ENGRAVED STAMP "COPELAND" with a crown underneath. ENGRAVED "N 73" which stands for NOVEMBER 1873 on back. ALL 8 PLATES APPEAR UNUSED NO visible to eye SCRATCHES ON THE SURFACE , 2 PLATES ON THEIR RIM EDGE GILT IS FADING DUE TO THEIR 144 year old age. To my eyes they look almost brand new.
These are original and NOT reproductions. 10 1/2 inches in diameter.
They are transfer ware as stated by the museum with hand painted gold Gilt and I believe the outer lip is all hand painted. These are extremely rare and ever so beautiful. Colors are similar to Imari. There are no chips no cracks.
The above is a list of dates on each plate as best as I can view. AGAIN PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS AND ENLARGE THEM TO SEE THE FINE CHINA QUALITY OF THESE TRULY WORKS OF ART! The item "COPELAND CHINA 1873 SET 8 DINNER PLATES ANTIQUE IMARI COLORS HAND PAINT $1000.
